“How
Do We as Christians Approach the Holiday Season”
I. Wisdom (Truth) as we should
everything (2 Corinthians5:7; Romans 10:17)
II.
Look for opportunity to do good:
A. To share the Word of God; (Matthew 28:19, 20)
1. A book or track on the incarnation of Christ.
2. A book on the life of Christ.
3. A New Testament or Bible
4. To a Brother or Sister in Christ: A subscription to
a brotherhood
magazine or some good book that has helped you.
B. Help those in physical need: feed the hungry, cloth the
poor, comfort the
lonely and bring to children with gifts and holiday activities.
(James 1:27; Matthew 2: 3-40; Thessalonians 5:14)
III. Be thankful to others
but most of all to God.
(Philippians 4:6, 7; I Thessalonians 5:17, 18)
Accept gifts graciously but don’t expect them as though someone owed you
something. -- For we are the debtors because of the greatest gift that we
accept by obedience. (Hebrews 5:8,9; John 3:16, 36)
IV.
This is a time to grow in a family relations.
A. Remember the foundation of the home is the husband and
wife
relationship. (Ephesians 5:21-33)
1. Don’t ever replace other relations for this one.
2. Remember the number one reason for divorce is finances.
Don’t
overspend and put pressure on your later.
B.
The extended family grandparents, uncles and aunts et.) is important,
especially for children. Let your light shine and be a good influence and
“if it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all
men.”
V. Remember we to are a family
-- The family and household of God.
(Ephesians 3:19 - 4:16; I Timothy 3:15)
